Outpatient surgery for children
We invite parents to stay with their child before and immediately following surgery. Children may also wish to bring a favorite stuffed toy or blanket with them. Please be sure to check with your physician regarding special preoperative instructions for small children.
- Do bring diapers and a bottle or sippy cup, as appropriate for the age of your child. These will be used after surgery.
- Do bring a comfort item for your child, such as a blanket, stuffed animal or toy.
- Do plan to remain and SWRSC during your child's surgery. A parent or guardian must remain at the surgery center at all times.
- Do not allow your child to have anything to eat or drink after midnight.
